Clinton Slayton submitted this photograph (right).

Clinton told us this:

"This plane is probably from the 392nd, my uncle Charles Slayton is the second from the left. The plane has no name or identifying marks. It looks like a Marauder to me. I apologize if this is a B-24 Liberator.

Charles was the radio/radar technician, sometimes his records say Staff Sergeant, sometime Technical Sergeant. He died over the English Channel when the bomber he was in exploded, possibly from an incendiary bomb on the plane."
